hey people of oldsushi,

I dont use this site too often, so bare with me if i am in the wrong forum or somthing, but i have a friend visiting kyoto in a week or two and didnt make reservations for a hotel and is having a hard time finding a place.....

are there any places you could recomend? website? phone number?

Could you give us a budget? There are some fantastic hotels here, but they are also fantastically expensive. He is coming during high season so a lot of hotels will be filled with people who are here to see the momiji (maple leaves). There is an international centre in Kyoto station that will help you find a hotel and make reservations. My dad used this service last year and they were great. I have used it since then and vouch for them.

well the cheap side is best, she is just coming up for the weekend from hiroshima, but she may have to cancle her trip, we have been looking all day for any place thats not already booked and we are running out of luck........we have tried the tokyoinn, many hostles, and the like....

 so on the off chance anyone knows of somthing off the beaten path that may still be open that would be great.....

 she is worried about just showing up without a place to stay and talking to the people at the station, so i think that is out, unless we can find a link to email them ahead of time.
