So today i made a class of mostly 3rd year high school boys sit in groups of 4 making origami pumpkins while listening to Alanis Morissettes jagged little pill, then i made them attach these pumpkins to little paper bags (i had also had them make) and encouraged them to wander the streets of kyoto asking strangers for candy. why did i do this? because i just may be the embodiment of satin himself?.... no it just amused me to see them in such pain.

If my students can't answer a question I walk up to them and kick them really hard in the leg. Then I make the other kids laugh at them, in English, while they cry.

 Although, last year the kids had to listen to a Christmas song and fill in the blank lyrics on the hand outs I gave them. Standard listening activity you think, but no because Here Comes Santa Claus was being sung by Elvis in a heavy southern accent. The looks of utter incomprehension were priceless.
