BBC Breaking News states that a Tsunami over 2 metres tall is heading for the Northen islands of Japan, expected to hit at 9:10pm this evening. Those of you in Hokkaido please take preparation measures and look after yourselves.
Warnings are being broadcast on all Japanese TV and radio stations advising people to move to higher ground. It comes after an earthquake of at least 7.8 magnitude hit the Kuril Islands, north of Japan. Story from

I turned on my TV to see the warnings, and as BBC stated, every channel has the tsunami warning displayed in the bottom right of the screen. It seems set to hit the entire North-East coastline of Japan, with waves from 0.5-2metres high.
