I recently came across a cool mini-article/photo gallery of something which I often see at night throughout the main roads of Kyoto, but I just never thought to mention! Plus, I was unaware they had a name: Dekotora (”decoration trucks”)



These illuminated wonders of the road can be viewed in and between any major city. Occassionally you will also be lucky enough to hear high pitch voiced techno music pumping out from the trucks suped up sound system.

So the next time you see a truck that looks somewhat different from all the others... think Dekotora! (feels so good just to say that word! DEKOTORA!)
