Another favorite pasttime of the Classless ALT is helping the English teachers grade papers.

In my last hurricane of grading, a couple funny things popped up.

First of all, one of the students referred to Harry Potter as "Horny Potter" which would not have been so funny if it was not completely accidental, as they just happened to mistake the a for an o and made one of the r's a tad too long.

Another thing that really shocked me about this round of papers was the question "Which is more important, love or money?" About half of the students wrote money as the answer. Consumerism has definitely become the new religion, advertisement the new psalms. No refunds. No Salvation.

And even more shocking, when asked about the most important thing of all, again many of the students answered money, if not some other material item designed for the sheer purpose of being consumed and forgotten about a year or two down the line. Move over assembly line, here comes the youth of today!
